His first stint with MEC was between February and August in 1999 as the District Election Officer for – Machinga and later Balaka Districts.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.
Rejoined MEC on 22nd April 2004 as an Assistant Civic and Voter Education Officer up to 2008 and worked in regional offices Central and South.
In 2007 he attended a two-week ToT (training of trainers) course at the then Malawi Institute of Management, now Malawi School of Government.
In March 2008, he attended a Train the Facilitator Course (TtF) with BRIDGE (Building Resources in Democracy, Governance and Elections). From 2008 to date he has attended over twenty BRIDGE courses and also facilitated several BRIDGE courses within and outside Malawi. He became a fully accredited BRIDGE facilitator in 2010.
He was appointed Acting Regional Elections Manager for the Central Region in 2008 and appointed substantially in 2010. Between 2014 and 2019, he was appointed the Warehouse Manager based at the MEC headquarters and later deployed to the region again as REM again up to date.
He also attended a workshop on the use of ICT in democratic election in Brussels, Belgium in 2010.
He also attended a weeklong course in Election Management in Incheon, South Korea in 2017.
To date he has taken part in the conduct of five General Elections in Malawi, i.e. 1999, 2004, 2009, 2014 and 2019 plus the 2020 Fresh Presidential Elections. He has also taken part in the conduct of numerous parliamentary and local government by-elections across the country.
The fourth coming September 16, 2025 General Elections will be his sixth General Election to be part of conduct of the process.
