CALL FOR APPLICATIONS FOR ACCREDITATION TO OBSERVE THE 2025 GENERAL ELECTION (POLLING)
The Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC), in accordance with Section 102—106 of the Presidential, Parliamentary and Local Government Elections Act is pleased to announce a call for applications for accreditation of both local and international observers for the 2025 General Election.
Who Can Apply?
Any international and local non-governmental organization, foreign government, and foreign and local personalities including Representatives from international organizations, intergovernmental organizations, diplomatic missions, and foreign non-governmental organisations, civil society organizations, community-based organizations, religious institutions, academic institutions, and other interested groups and individuals within Malawi, may apply to the Commission for accreditation to observe the 2025 General Election.
Eligibility
Applicants must be apolitical and demonstrate a commitment to impartiality, transparency, and adherence to democratic principles and the existing electoral laws in Malawi

Complete the official application form, which can be downloaded from the Malawi Electoral Commission website: https://mec.org.mw/2025-accreditation/
Supporting Documents
Submit relevant documentation, including organizational profile, accreditation details, observer credentials, and the intended number of observers to be deployed and all the other necessary documents listed in the form
Code of Conduct
All accredited election observers shall be required to subscribe to and be bound by a code of conduct governing observers issued by the Commission under the Act.
Application Deadline
Application should be submitted by 31st July 2025.
How to Apply
All applications for ROVING OBSERVERS should be sent to the MEC head office with all supporting documents. All applications for polling station, Constituency Tally centre and District Tally centre should be sent to the respective districts.
